The National Geodetic Reference Frame constitutes the fundamental base on which all the cartography of the country is based. Without a reference frame, no cartography is possible. The reference frames are currently being defined with great precision through permanent stations installed all over the planet, which continuously receive data from the NAVSTAR and GLONASS satellite constellations. The system is called GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), and the stations are the ones that materialize the reference frames worldwide.

Consistent with the international trend, Argentina generated a project that consists of the installation of permanent GNSS stations to contribute to the materialization of the National Geodetic Reference Frame. The project is called the Argentine Continuous Satellite Monitoring Network (RAMSAC), and its main objectives include the following:

The POSGAR 94 Network, due to the great advantages of GPS technology, began to extend its use to all areas of Surveying and Topography, in this way the coordinates of the points of the Network became increasingly essential for different precision applications.

Last Thursday, the Legislature of the City of Buenos Aires (CABA) passed into law a bill that seeks to amend and update the Building Code, approved by Law No. 6,100, in order to adapt the rules to the new conditions of habitability and to facilitate the simplification of procedures.

In this way, the Urban Planning Commission incorporated and adjusted the suggestions to the initial project and, consequently, a majority report was approved, which became law with 36 affirmative votes and 20 against.

The bill introduced amendments to Title II (“Work, Notices, Permits and Subjects”), promoting new definitions, scopes and classifications for the processing of notices and work permits, as well as with respect to the terms and validity thereof.

In addition, in Title III (“Project”), criteria were established to grant greater flexibility to the basic conditions required for certain uses of the project and/or for the reconvention of new and/or existing spaces.

The Web Vector Service (WFS*) allows the access and query of the attributes of a vector (feature) that represents geographic information such as a river, a city or a lake, with a geometry described by a set of coordinates. The WFS service allows not only to visualize the information as a WMS allows, but also to consult and edit it freely, with the possibility of storing the changes in its own version of the original information, stored remotely.* Some agencies may require a user name and password for the use of certain wfs layers, for which you should contact that agency and request the corresponding access.

The Web Coverage Service (WCS) allows interoperable access to geographic coverage data, that is, data that model reality as a continuum. The WCS service allows publishing and accessing datasets in raster, collection and time series formats. As with WFS, a WCS service returns data in a format that can be used as input for analysis and modeling since the original data is available.
